Vladimir Busygin – Doctor of Economics, General Director of OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Chief Engineer of the Company Khamit Gilmanov and a group of experts of All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute for Petrochemical Processes (VNIIneftekhim) and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas were awarded the Russian Federation Government Prize for 2011 in Science and Technology for scientific and technological principles, development and commercial implementation of innovative, environmentally friendly, resource saving technologies of production of isoprene and a complex of high quality petrochemical by-products. One-stage isoprene production technology is implemented at NKNK isoprene monomer production plant. Mastering of this process allowed not only to decrease production costs and specific heat energy consumption but also to reduce hazardous emissions released to the atmosphere. In 2011 2.5 million tons of isoprene were produced since the beginning of production. Currently one-stage isoprene production capacity expansion program is under implementation.
