Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) was once again ranked as the top manufacturer of flat, galvanised and coated metal products by the leading industry magazine Metal Supply and Sales, in its rating of the best Russian manufacturers and suppliers of metal products for the second half of 2023.

In addition, MMK was rated as one of the top three producers of long products. Two MMK Group companies were also included in the magazine’s list of industry leaders: MMK-METIZ placed second in the rating of metalware manufacturers, and MMK Trading House took third place among the top metallurgical trading companies.

MMK’s leading position in two categories reflects its success in terms of implementing its strategy, which is centred on the development of state-of-the-art, high-performance capacities for the production of high-margin rolled products and coated steel. Today, the Company has a wide range of capacities for the production of unique, high-tech, world-class metal products, and it is a leading supplier of products for a number of key sectors of the Russian economy. At the same time, premium products account for more than 40% of the Company’s output.

The rating of Russian manufacturers and traders of ferrous and non-ferrous metal products was compiled on the basis of questionnaire responses from consumers of metal products, the results of a survey of metal market experts, as well as a comprehensive analysis of companies’ operations. In determining the rating leaders, the magazine considered business development trends, supply volumes, the level of service, product quality, and the reliability of the supplier in terms of fulfilling contractual obligations and transparency.
