Gazprom has successfully held an Investor Day in London (March 3) and New York (March 5).
Taking part in the events were Andrey Kruglov and Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairmen of the Gazprom Management Committee; Oleg Aksyutin and Dmitry Lyugai, Members of the Gazprom Management Committee; Mikhail Rosseyev (Gazprom's Accounting Department), Svetlana Antonova (Gazprom's Asset Management and Corporate Relations Department), Alexey Yuankevich (Gazprom Neft) and Denis Fyodorov (Gazprom Energoholding).
The Investor Day aroused great interest from the investment community. In London it was attended by over 140 portfolio managers and analysts from major international investment funds and credit institutions. In New York the number of attendees exceeded 80. They represented such prominent investment banks as Bank of America, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Societe Generale, UBS, VTB Capital, Gazprombank and Sberbank CIB.
The event participants were engaged in constructive talks, and investment industry professionals received full and detailed replies to the questions of interest. Special attention was paid to sustainable efforts being taken to further improve Gazprom's performance. These include measures aimed at the containment of costs, optimization of cashflow management and streamlining of corporate governance. It was highlighted that Gazprom continued studying possible ways for transiting to the calculation of dividends on the basis of net profit specified in consolidate financial results under IFRS.
The investors expressed a keen interest in and positively evaluated Gazprom's projects oriented towards the Asia-Pacific region. The Company was establishing a firm foothold to ensure the geographic diversification of supplies and considerably expand its presence in Asia-Pacific markets.
