Power engineers of the “Penzaenergo” branch of Rosseti Volga, PJSC are completing the next stage of the implementation of the 2020 program for the development of a commercial electricity metering system. By December 25, 1,568 single-phase and 230 three-phase meters will be installed. The volume of financing is 33.5 million rubles, including VAT.
Metering devices installed to subscribers of the Penza region record the consumed electrical energy with an accuracy class of 1.0. These are devices of new generation with remote reading of indications. The meters have a built-in rater that allows metering of electricity at night and daytime. It is known that the transition to multi-tariff settlement allows the consumer to save money due to the difference in daytime and night tariffs.
The availability of smart metering devices allows power engineersto obtain accurate operational readings of electricity consumption by subscribers, to monitor electricity losses in a specific grid section and to disconnect consumers from the electrical grid when maximum values of the electrical load are reached. Also, the use of smart metering systems helps to prevent fires caused by short circuits or overloads in the electric grid in a number of cases.
From July 1, 2020, in accordance with Federal Law No. 522-FZ, the obligation to purchase and install metering devices for subscribers is assigned to energy companies. Subscribers will also be exempted from the costs of checking and maintaining meters for monitoring consumed resources. Metering points are placed on power transmission line supports, at boundaries of the balance participation of the “Penzaenergo” branch and consumer equipment in the distribution grid.
