The international industrial exhibition "INNOPROM. Big Industrial Week in Uzbekistan" was held in Tashkent on 5-7 April. At the exhibition, MMK presented its exposition at a separate stand, where visitors to the forum could familiarise themselves with a wide range of products and the advantages of working together with one of the leaders in the Russian iron and steel industry.

"We are glad to be present at this international forum in Tashkent," - noted Pavel Shilyaev, MMK CEO, who headed the delegation of MMK at the forum, "Industry in Uzbekistan is rapidly developing; last year Uzbekistan became the largest consumer of MMK products among the CIS countries. We are interested in continuing and expanding our mutually beneficial cooperation with our Uzbek partners."

In 2020, MMK shipped 415.6 thousand tonnes of steel products to Uzbek companies. This amounted to 82% of the total sales to Central Asia and 35% of the sales to the CIS countries.

At the industrial exhibition in Tashkent, MMK representatives held meetings with some of the biggest clients. Among them was the Tashkent Pipe Rolling Plant (TPP), the first steel pipe producer in Uzbekistan. MMK supplies TPP primarily with hot-rolled steel, but also with other types of products. MMK's total shipments to the TPP in 2020 amounted to 66.2 thousand tonnes.

MMK also actively cooperates with companies representing the automotive industry in Uzbekistan. MMK's delegation held meetings during the exhibition in Tashkent with manufacturers of cars and car components, in particular UzAuto Motors and its subsidiaries and contractors. In total, MMK supplied over 38 thousand tonnes of steel products to the Uzbek automotive industry in 2020.

Another major customer of MMK in Uzbekistan is ARTEL Group, one of the key manufacturers of household appliances and electronics in Central Asia. In 2020, Akfa-Artel holding, which owns the company, bought 19.2 thousand tonnes of products fr om MMK, primarily cold-rolled and galvanized steel. In addition, MMK closely cooperates with the Tashkent Iron and Steel Works, which launched in December 2020 (with a design capacity of 500 thousand tonnes of galvanized and coated steel per year). MMK is the major supplier of hot rolled coils to this plant. According to the MMK delegation, productive meetings took place with representatives of all the above companies, wh ere they discussed in detail the prospects for the development of further partnerships.
