ROSSETI

April 29, 2021

Head of Rosseti Andrey Ryumin speaking about the 2020/2021 autumn-winter period outcomes for the company and the asset consolidation in the grid complex at the All-Russian Meeting

The meeting was chaired by Nikolai Shulginov, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.

Key theses of Andrey Ryumin’s speech:

– Despite an increase in the number of dangerous meteorological phenomena (more than 1.5 times by the 2019/2020 autumn-winter period), Rosseti succeeded in passing the peak season due to the effective implementation of the 2020 repair campaign (the main work was completed by October 1). 9,850 brigades, 47,680 power engineers, 23,977 units of special equipment and 6,136 reserve energy sources (488.8 MW) were prepared, and an emergency SA (subsidiaries and affiliates) reserve (17.6 billion rubles) was formed against the possibility of restoration work.

–  Rosseti paid special attention to the power supply of medical institutions that accept patients with COVID-19. Not a single power outage has occurred in 510 hospitals and directly supplied hospitals. For redundancy, 295 mobile energy sources (45 MW) have been installed.

– The company is implementing a number of target programs aimed at improving reliability. Measures include: clearing and expanding more than 173,000 hectares of glades, replacing the “bare” wire with self-supporting insulated wire - almost 79,000 km of 6-20 kV transmission lines passing through forests, installing new supports and communication devices.

–  For a number of regions, including the North Caucasus, North-West and Siberia, programs have been developed to upgrade and improve reliability.

–  In 2020-2021, Rosseti provided assistance 330 times in the restoration of ownerless networks and facilities of other owners. To form a single center of responsibility, work is underway to consolidate assets. Over 6 years, 381,700 units of equipment have been registered as property.

Preparations for the next AWP (autumn-winter period) have already started. In 2021, Rosseti will allocate 71.4 billion rubles to finance the renovation program.
