Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) was awarded first place in the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs' (RSPP) contest "Russian Business Leaders: Dynamics, Responsibility, Sustainability - 2020". The panel of judges recognised the Company's contribution to environmental projects, human resource development and ensuring employee safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
RSPP summarised the results of the annual competition, Russian Business Leaders: Dynamics, Responsibility, Sustainability, in which more than 240 companies from 35 Russian regions, representing a variety of industries, took part. Thanks to its successful work in 2020, MMK won the Grand Prix, which is awarded to a company for the highest results in more than three categories.
The panel of judges recognised MMK's success in the following categories: "Environmental Responsibility", "Human Resources Development", "Achievements in Occupational Health and Safety", as well as in the special category "Best Practice in Ensuring the Safety of Employees and Counterparties against the Spread of the New Coronavirus Infection".
"We are very pleased that the RSPP recognised our work in 2020," Pavel Shilyaev, MMK CEO, commented on the award. “It has been a challenging year, we, like the rest of the world, have had to respond to challenges that we have not faced before.
