Uzbekistan Power engineers visit Rosseti Group digital facilities

As part of their visit to Russia the senior executives of JSC National Power Grid of Uzbekistan and JSC Sredazenergosetproekt saw the facilities of Rosseti Group of Companies. The delegation was headed by Sobirjon Artikov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek electric grid company. 

The working visit took place in order to be made aware of the experience in digital transformation of the Russian main electric grid complex, including the possibility of further Rosseti’s involvement in design, construction and modernization of the electric grid facilities in Uzbekistan

The program included a visit to 500/220/20 kV Zapadnaya substation where the Uzbek delegation could see the equipment of 220 and 500 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), microprocessor-based power system protection devices, an automated process control system, and visited one of the most powerful substations in Europe - 750/500/220/110 kV Gribovo substation which provides the power output of Unit No. 4 of the Kalininskaya NPP to the Moscow power system.

The Uzbek power engineers also visited 110 kV Medvedevskaya digital substation, the Rosseti Moscow Region network management center and the head office of Rosseti Group where they had a look at the work of the situation analysis center and held talks with representatives of Rosseti.

In the course of the discussion they in particular touched on further interaction regarding the Rosseti involvement in personnel training, design and construction of electric grid infrastructure facilities in Uzbekistan with the use of digital solutions and Russian electrical equipment. 

Sobirjon Artikov informed the Russian colleagues about the additional construction volume required to build main substations and power lines in Uzbekistan in the near future, the need to construct external power supply facilities for new capacities of industrial enterprises in Tashkent and Navoi region.

Joint-Stock Company National Power Grid of Uzbekistan (JSC NPG of Uzbekistan) was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2019 as a result of JSC Uzbekenergo reorganization. The main activities include the operation and development of the main electric networks of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the supply of electricity through main power transmission lines (220-500 kV) and the implementation of interstate transit of electricity. 

Joint-Stock Company Sredazenergosetproekt (SAESP) is a design and survey institute for electric power industry facilities which is engaged in engineering surveys and development of design estimates for the construction of power facilities with a voltage of 500/220/110/35 kV.
