Rosseti Volga

August 12, 2020

Another five energy companies received new legal names in accordance with the unified brand architecture of Rosseti

The Rosseti Group of Companies has completed the second stage of implementing a unified brand architecture in 22 regions of its presence, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. Rosseti Moscow Region, Rosseti Lenenergo, Rosseti Siberia, Rosseti Volga and Rosseti Kuban (all are Public Joint-Stock Companies) have completely passed the legal name change procedure. Earlier, this was done by Rosseti Tyumen, Rosseti Yug and Rosseti North Caucasus in 14 regions of presence.

As part of the new names, the geographical reference to the activities of organizations has been preserved or clarified, and in some cases parts of the historical and familiar to all names have remained. These brands have been used in corporate and marketing communications since Q3 2019.

The historical name "Lenenergo", which has been used since 1932, has been preserved for the power grid organization of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast. This symbolizes the continuity of experience and traditions of the oldest energy company in Russia. The name “Rosseti Moscow Region”, formerly “MOESK”, more accurately identifies the company's activities in the most densely populated – the capital region of the country. Rosseti Siberia, Rosseti Volga and Rosseti Kuban previously used the names IDGC of Siberia, IDGC of Volga and Kubanenergo.

The decision to switch to a unified brand architecture for all subsidiaries and affiliates was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2019 by Pavel Livinsky, CEO of Rosseti.

“The Russian power grid complex has never previously had a single brand that is recognizable and understandable for a wide audience,” says Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anton Inyutsyn. “The creation of a unified corporate identity for the Rosseti Group will increase the recognition of the company, which supplies power to 80 regions. Consumers, in turn, will know that one of the largest and most dynamic holdings in the country is responsible for providing them with a safe, reliable and affordable power supply. This is a significant contribution to the overall work to increase the openness and transparency of the industry. In addition, participation in a single brand will become an incentive for each of Rosseti employees to maintain the highest quality of services provided.”

A change in the name of the company will not entail changes in the rights and obligations in relation to consumers and contractors.
