JSC «Power Machines» has produced hydro-generator No. 4 and shipped the main parts of hydro-turbine No. 5 for the Boguchanskaya HPP, which is being constructed in the Krasnoyarsk territory by JSC «RusHydro» and UC RUSAL.
The contracts for manufacture of the hydro-turbine and hydro-generator equipment for the Boguchanskaya HPP were signed between JSC «Power Machines» and the partners in the construction of the power station — JSC «RusHydro» and UC RUSAL — in 2006 and 2007. The aggregate sum of the contracts amounts to over 6 billion roubles. The equipment delivery deadline is 2012. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts, «Power Machines» is to carry out the design, manufacture and delivery to the Boguchanskaya HPP of nine turbines and nine generators with a nominal capacity of 333 MW each. In addition, specialists of the St. Petersburg power-machine building company are to exercise on-site control and carry out installation and commissioning work on all the equipment manufactured.
So far, «Power Machines» has manufactured and delivered to the construction site four sets of hydro-turbine equipment, including the rotor wheels for the turbines, and three sets of hydro-generators. The heaviest part of a hydro-generator is the central section of the rotor frame, which, at a diameter of 5 metres, weighs 90 metric tonnes. The rotor wheels of the turbines for the Boguchanskaya HPP are the biggest produced in Russia in recent decades in terms of weight and dimensions. Each such turbine rotor wheel is 7.86 metres in diameter and weighs 155.6 metric tonnes.
In September 2009, «Power Machines» manufactured the rotor wheel for turbine No. 5, which will be shipped in the summer of 2010, during the navigation season, since the large dimensions of the rotor wheel mean that the only way to transport it is by sea.
The JSC «Power Machines» subsidiaries are currently preparing hydro-generator No. 4 for shipment and work is continuing on producing hydro-generator No. 5 and hydro-turbine No. 6.
