Mordovenergo actively continues implementation of the repair program

Power engineers of Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), are vigorously carrying out the repair campaign. According to the schedule, 10 substations of different voltage class will be repaired this July. They include 2 substation of 110/35/10 kV, 1 substation of 110/35/6 kV, 3 substations of 110/10 kV, and 4 substations of 35/10 kV.
Repair operations will be held at 79 transformer substations (10/0.4 kV), 5 power transformers (10/0.4 kV), and 18.8 km of 35-110 kV overhead lines. Works scheduled for July also include replacement of 14.7 km of 0.4-10 kV non-insulated bushings with insulated wire at transformer substations of Mordovian settlements for OHL with shielded wires — a solution aimed to improve operational reliability and reduce unplanned outages. Forrest corridors are actively being cleared. It is planned to treat an area of over 103.7 ha by the end of July. Maintenance teams work at Vad — Svoboda 110 kV overhead line, Medayevo — Dubenki 110 kV overhead line, Z. Polyana — Shiringushi 110 kV overhead line, 110 kV branch line at Zubova Polyana, Krasino — Purkayevo 35 kV overhead line, Kr. Rudnya — Meltsany 35 kV overhead line, Khovanschina — Boldovo 35 kV overhead line, Shishkeevo — Terizmorga 35 kV line.
Employees participating in clearing of ROW corridors are equipped with all necessary tools and appliances — from handheld bush cutting machines and chainsaws to special-purpose vehicles (tractors), including those providing full-cycle vegetation management with complete slash disposal, and special forestry mulchers designed for high-performance cutting and mulching vegetation and undergrowth from wooded terrain. Such equipment is used in all production units of Mordovenergo.
Application of such special-purpose vehicles employing mulching technique provides considerable time and cost savings due to increased processing rates and reduced manpower needs. Measures of the repair campaign are a necessary part of preparation of electric equipment and power facilities for the 2017–2018 peak load autumn-winter season. Similar works are being performed in all branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC.
