The reorganization of IDGC of Volga, JSC, in the form of a merger of regional distribution companies of Volga IDC, JSC with it (Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk regions), Mordovenergo, JSC, Orenburgenergo, JSC, Penzaenergo, JSC, Chuvashenergo, JSC was completed on the 1st of April 2008 within the framework of power industry reforming.

The records in the United public register of legal persons about the lay-off of Volga IDC, JSC, Mordovenergo, JSC, Penzaenergo, JSC, Orenburgenergo, JSC and Chuvashenergo, JSC as a result of their affiliation to IDGC of Volga, JSC were entered on the 1st of April and the redrafted Charter of IDGC of Volga, JSC was also registered.

Now IDGC of Volga is a united operational company with a management center in the city of Saratov. All the distribution grid companies constituting the configuration of IDGC of Volga, JSC went out of business as stock companies and operate since the 1st of April as branches. The structure of IDGC of Volga, JSC includes 7 branches – Saratov Distribution Grids, Samara Distribution Grids, Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, Mordovenergo, Orenburgenergo, Penzaenergo and Chuvashenergo.

“In spite of the changes in the organizational and legal sphere, our priority was and is the reliable and qualitative power supply of consumers of all the regions of the company’s configuration,” believes Director General of IDGC of Volga, JSC Dmitry Ryabov. “Power industry must correspond at least to the needs of the regional economy and our objective-maximum is to work ahead of the schedule of these needs. Such strategy is advantageous not only for consumers but also for shareholders of the company and would-be investors”.

The sphere of activity of IDGC of Volga, JSC is 7 regions with the total area of 412 thousand square km., where over 13 million people live. The total length of power transmission lines exceeds 220 thousand km. The number of the staff of the united company is over 18 thousand people.
