Rosseti Volga branch - (brand of IDGC of Volga PJSC) Mordovenergo, within the framework of the energy service contract, will install about 5500 modern smart metering devices in the settlements of the Republic of Mordovia. At present, 4619 metering devices have been installed in 8 districts of the republic, and installation will be completely completed by the end of this year.

The planned savings from the implementation of these measures will amount to almost 9.5 million kWh. in year. Intelligent metering devices give a good effect and increase the accuracy of calculating the cost of energy consumed. According to experts, such accounting will ensure transparency of payments, improve accounting, and strengthen control over the efficient use of energy resources.

This ultimately benefits both consumers and power grid companies. Installation and maintenance of smart metering devices using an automated energy control and accounting system (AECAS) allows not only to automate the collection of data on energy consumption and certain quality indicators, but also to reduce energy costs and eliminate the facts of undue energy consumption. Implementation of these measures will allow power engineers to achieve a long-term effect in terms of reducing the technological consumption of electricity for transmission through electric networks and to minimize the cost of taking meter readings.
