Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) summed up the scores from the regional stage of the contest launched to evaluate technical status of 110 kV overhead transmission lines. The title of best 110 kV overhead transmission line at Ulyanovsk DG branch was awarded to 110 kV Cheremshanskaya 1,2 Overhead Power Line of Dimitrovgrad Production Department (PD). Second place went to 110 kV Zavolzhskaya 1,2 line (of Ulyanovsk PD), and the third - to line "Barysh-Naleyka" (Baryshsky PD). Preparation of overhead transmission lines for the contest was held within the entire period of repair work. The Committee, composed of the senior managers of executive bodies and the branch specialized services, assessed technical and aesthetic status of all elements of the overhead lines: poles, foundations, wire, lightning protection cables, line hardware and insulation, earthing devices, condition of the route. To get the title of the best line of 2015, High-voltage Line Service personnel of Dimitrovgrad PD replaced 540 insulators, line accessories and 1.5 km of wire at 110 kV Cheremshanskaya 1,2 Line. Termite welding of sleeves improving reliability of contact joints was performed, and undersurface sections of supports and grounding risers were repaired. Furthermore, anticorrosive coating was applied to metal elements of supports, and dispatch markings and safety signs were renewed. The contest for the best technical condition of 110 kV overhead transmission lines is held for the second year in a row. At the final stage of the competition the Central Commission of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, will determine the best 110 kV line among all branches. For this purpose, the final protocol, all relevant documentation and photo materials on the results of the regional stage were sent to the executive body of the Company. "The Contest, first and foremost, affects the formation of healthy competition and the exchange of good practices between the branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC." Upon the results of this year's work we can note improvement in the technical condition and aesthetic appearance of overhead transmission lines, "- said Valeriy Mardariev, the head of the Regional Service of High-Voltage Lines.
