Energy workers of the Central PD of Saratov DG, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) completed an integrated capital repair project for Secha 110/6 kV substation in the Volzhskiy district of Saratov. The facility was commissioned in 1985. As part of the repair program, two transformers type TDRN-25000/110 kV manufactured by Togliatti Transformer Limited were installed at the substation. For power transformers Ň1 and Ň-2, specialists replaced valves and fittings, oil-resistant rubber components, and engines of the cooling system, inspected and replaced the transformer “breathing” and oil level monitoring system, repaired corrosion-resistant coating of the power transformers and repaired oil receivers. On switching devices of the 110 kV outdoor switchgear, specialists replaced pedestal-type insulation for polymer insulators that have unparalleled performance when compared to any other type and that require practically no diagnostics and maintenance over their operating lifetime. In the 6kV indoor switchgear, specialists carried out heavy maintenance of all oil circuit breakers, including replacement of their contact elements, and checked all response times and electrical characteristics of oil circuit breakers. Maintenance works in the building of 110 kV outdoor switchgear included installation of new energy-efficient lighting system and IR-heaters, painting of the façade and individual building structures, and winterization of entrance doors and gates to make them draught proof. Employees of the branch completed extensive land improvement works at the site, renewed corrosion – resistant coating, restored and reconditioned all site signage, labels and safety signs for the substation fencing. As noted by Oleg Sokolov, Chief Engineer of the Central Production Department of Saratov DG, capital repairs at Secha substation will result in extended service live of equipment, enhanced levels of safety for operating and maintenance staff of the substation, and improved quality and reliability of power supply for consumers (including Saratovvodokanal Municipal Unitary Enterprise, Saratovenergoneft, customers of Saratov City Electric Network Enterprise, CJSC (SPGES), etc. Besides, it will help operate safely and efficiently during this fall-winter 2015-2016 season.
