IDGC of Volga, JSC continues its preparation for the forthcoming autumn-winter season 2014-2015

As part of preparations for operations during the forthcoming autumn and winter period – 2014-2015, specialists of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) implement a range of measures, including activities provided by the repair and investment programs, vegetation management activities, emergency stock replenishment, etc.
As of this date, the repair and investment programs of IDGC of Volga, JSC for 2014 have been implemented by 102.8% and 146.8% respectively, as compared to the target figures. Clearing and extension of the strips of land under and adjacent to the high-voltage transmission lines (right-of-ways) to meet the requirements of the relevant standards and technical documents are carried out in compliance with the approved plan. At the moment, the plan is implemented by 118% of the target figures. At the moment, the vegetation management activities are completed on the right-of-ways with the total area of 3,321 ha. As part of the program aiming to improve reliability, specialists of the company replace oil-filled transformer bushings for solid bushings.
To ensure compliance with climate-specific wind and ice formation parameters, specialists increase the spacing between the intermediate and anchor supports of 35-100 kV overhead power transmission lines, replace and install additional insulation as necessary. Works performed on 0.4-10 kV distribution grid lines as part of reconstruction programs include installation of self-bearing insulated wires and suspended insulators. All branches of IDGC of Volga, JSC inspected their emergency stock levels that are assessed as 100%. Storage locations ensure delivery of equipment and materials to potentially affected sites in the shortest time possible. De-icing schemes are being re-designed at Saratov DG, Samara DG and Orenburgenergo. Trial de-icing of power transmission lines was launched according to de-icing schedule. To ensure efficient accident recovery operations, 451 employees were organized into 62 mobile teams equipped with 201 special-purpose vehicles, tools and machinery required to resume normal operations after a disaster. By successfully implementing the above measures, IDGC of Volga, JSC will ensure reliable operation of electrical grid facilities during autumn and winter season 2014-2015.
