New Grids for New Residents

Western Electric Grids of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, construct new electric grids to supply power to a new settlement in the Pervomaysky district. Administration of the Pervomaysky district announced about this new settlement accommodating 247 houses, a school, a kindergarten and shops in 2011. “Seventy land plots in the community were allocated to build houses for large families", said Sergey Shchetinin, Head of the Pervomaysky district. "Newly married couples will be given quotas for private housing construction under the governmental program “Young Families.” Order for technological connection of new facilities with the total capacity of 1,235 kV placed with Western Electric Grids was included into the investment program. Technological connection operations were launched in September, 2013. “To ensure the required capacity, we reconstructed the feeding center first. We replaced transformers and installed vacuum switches at the substation “Pervomayskaya”, explained Sergey Zhornik, Head of Pervomaysky RES (electrical grid district) of Western Electric Grids of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC. "At the present time, the construction of power transmission line in the settlement is in progress. We will build about 9 km of power lines and install 4 transformer substations.” For convenience of residents of the new settlement, smart power meters will be installed on supports of power transmission line having cable entry systems into houses. Measured data are transmitted to the dispatcher's database for further processing. Power engineers plan to complete the construction works and commission the facility by the end of 2013.
