Rosseti Volga

October 26, 2011

Production departments of Samara Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC received “Preparedness Passports” – certificates confirming their preparedness for operations during the autumn–winter season 2011-2012

The certificates obtained by the branch production departments confirm timeliness and quality of a set of actions implemented to increase reliability of power supply for consumers of the Samara region during the peak load season. Preparedness passports were issued according to the results of the inspection carried out by an ad-hoc commission with participation of representatives of Samara Regional Dispatch Control Center, the Emercom, the Middle-Volga Directorate of Rostekhnadzor (the Federal Environmental, Engineering & Nuclear Supervision Agency), heads of departments and services of production and technical unit of Samara Distribution Grids. The Commission checked condition of the equipment, availability of sufficient stock of materials required for accident recovery operations, preparedness of the branch production departments for operations under low temperature conditions, availability of PPE, collective protection systems, special clothes and tools. The autumn-winder season lasts from November to April. This is a season when power facilities operate under low temperatures, and the entire power system is forced to operate under maximum load conditions. Successful implementation of scheduled repair and investment programs, along with timely technical maintenance of equipment, buildings and structures, is a key to sustainable operations of all production departments of Samara Distributions Grids. All required works were completed in full scope and in due time. Another pre-requisite for successful operations during the autumn-winter season is a smooth and well-structured coordination of efforts between all stakeholders: companies, administrative authorities, bodies of local self-government, the Emercom units. In particular, such cooperation include establishment of regional headquarters ensuring safety of power supply, implemented schemes for interaction with the Regional Dispatch Control Center and Trunk Power Grids of the Volga region.
