Regional Minister of Industry and Energy Kirill Gorshenin visited the Agregatnaya substation where equipment overhaul is in progress. The energy facility concerned supplies power to residents of the Oktyabrsky and the Frunzensky Districts of Saratov as well as to industrial enterprises. To ensure uninterrupted consumer power supply a mobile substation was commissioned for operation during the repairs period. The substation is composed of two modules. Mounted on the first module is factory-assembled switch-gear with a 110 kV SF6 circuit breaker as well as a power transformer. Mounted on the second module is 10(6) kV switch-gear with all the control and protection systems required. The substation is equipped with systems for monitoring and remote control in the system of dispatching, ventilation, automatic heating, fire alarm and fire fighting. The complex is capable of full-value operation at temperatures from -45°Ñ to +40°Ñ. In case of necessity it is to be deployed for operation within 8-16 hours, allowing of prompt transportation to any of the seven activity regions of IDGC of Volga, JSC. The Company avails of two such substations located in Saratov and Samara. According to Deputy Chief Engineer of “Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Volga”, Joint-Stock Company Alexey Sofinsky, this substation is capable to ensure stable high quality power supply of 25 thousand city residents. Mobile substations are not the only example of fundamentally novel electrical engineering equipment used by the Company. IDGC of Volga, JSC was the first Russian company to purchase and actively employ for purposes of diagnostics of power cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation an OWTS–150 mobile laboratory by Seba KMT.
