The Board sessions took two days. A number of urgent issues were solved by way of discussion taken part in by Chief Engineers of electric power grids production divisions and heads of technical services of the Orenburgenergo branch. Prior to the autumn / winter season commencement power engineering specialists discussed the problem of normative voltage level maintenance at 35 and 110 kV substations at maximum and minimum seasonal loads. Chief Engineer of Northern Electric Power Grids Anatoly Yevgrafov shared his experience in voltage regulation with the help of telemechanical devices with his colleagues. Representatives of Orenburgenergo production divisions spoke of equipment status and technical conditions of on-load tape changers. In order to ensure compliance with modern power engineering requirements, be aware of innovations and be able to use them practically the power engineering professionals invited representatives of research laboratories and manufacturer plants to attend sessions of the Engineering-and-Technical Board. A presentation by Orenburg State Agrarian University attracted most genuine interest. The University employees presented a development for power transmission lines diagnostics with the help of unmanned aircrafts. Such a method for lines inspection is of special relevance for hard-to-reach areas of the region. Summing up the results of the Engineering-and-Technical Board activities Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation of the Orenburgenergo branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC Viktor Saltsev noted that “such venues help to find solutions serving to improve the working process and promote development of technical thought”.
