New vacuum-operated interrupters were installed on Kirpichnaya Substation (Pravoberezhnoe Production Division of Saratov Distribution Grids, branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC). The substation with the capacity of 35/6 kV was built in 1977-1978 to provide electricity to factories of construction materials and residential buildings in Alexandrovka, Bagaevka and Khmelevka settlements. Since that time the equipment at the substation became worn-out and technologically obsolete. The first stage of the reconstruction project involved installation of new 6 kV cells, followed by installation of three vacuum-operated interrupters made at Kontakt, Federal State Unitary Enterprise based in Saratov. The interrupters replaced the oil circuit-breakers, which were less reliable and required expensive maintenance. The completed repair works will provide more reliable electricity supply for current consumers and the newly constructed aerated concrete plant.
