BPC (Uralkali's export trader and a 50% joint venture with Belaruskali) has informed Uralkali of a new price increase in Brazil of USD 100.
The increase will be implemented in two steps of USD 50 each. First, for all the deliveries from 1 February till 1 March 2008 the new price level will become USD 450-460 pmt on CFR basis for Granular MOP (depending on a customer size). Second, for all the deliveries after 1 March 2008 and until further notice the new price will be USD 500-510 for Granular MOP. The Company believes that price evolution is supported by continuous growth of demand, further tightening of supply and decreasing inventory levels worldwide.
