Uralsvyazinform is the leading telecommunications service provider in Russia’s Urals region. Local and long-distance communications, mobile communications (GSM-900/1800, NMT-450i, DAMPS-800 and CDMA), new communications services, and cable television are the company’s main lines of activity.

The company’s share of local communications services in the regional market is 86 percent. Its share of the DLD/ILD market is 71 percent. It has 43 percent of mobile market. As of 1H 2004 the company served 3.3 million fixed-line subscribers and 1.5 million GSM subscribers.

The company's shares are traded on the Russian Trading System (RTS symbol: URSI/URSIP) and the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX symbol: UralSwI7). 13,1% of Uralsvyazinform's common and preferred stock is registered under the Level 1 ADR program (ADR symbols: UVYZY and UVYPY), deposited with JPMorgan Chase Bank. The ADRs are traded on the Berlin and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges (ISIN US9168871021) and OTC. The company auditor is ZAO “Ernst & Young Vneshaudit”.
