Vladivostok, February 2, 2005 – Far East Telecom (RTS: ESPK, ????: DLSV) hereby announces that the BoD of the company adopted the decision on February 1, 2005 to appoint Anton Alexeyev as General Director for a term of two years.

According to the head of the BoD of Far East Telecom Evgeny Yurchenko, the decision to make this appointment was adopted unanimously.  He pointed out that the BoD views Mr. Alexeyev as a highly skilled manager.  During the time he has worked in the telecom industry, Anton Alexeyev has proven himself to be a goal-oriented, competent, and far-sighted manager.  All told, he has been working 12 years in the telecom industry, nine of which have been in management positions.

Commenting on the appointment of Anton Alexeyev, head of the HR and Remuneration Committee Igor Repin noted that the candidate was first reviewed and approved by the Committee.  Anton Alexeyev was asked a number of personal and professional questions at the board meeting and his replies were given a positive assessment.  After a discussion the board unanimously supported the appointment of Anton Alexeyev.

2001 - 2002 – deputy general director of business strategy, deputy general director and commercial director of Petersburg Transit Telecom;

2002 - 2005 – first deputy director of a branch of Rostelecom – LD and ILD Telephone.
