On February 7, 2002 OJSC STC, in partnership with contractors held a meeting devoted to the issue of building telecom facilities which are to be commissioned this year. During the meeting a program was worked out to enter into service an Automatic Telephone Exchange based in Krasnodar krai with a total capacity of 119,612 lines and build fiber optic transmission lines 244.8 km long.

In 2001 OJSC STC entered 66,066 new lines into service.
