The Board of Directors meeting of OJSC North Western Telecom fixed the list of members who currently sit on the Board. The list includes seven members, who hold executive positions in the company. Alexander Sysoyev has been nominated as a candidate for directors general in place of Sergey Soldatenkov. The Board of Directors also appointed as Board member the vice director general for property relations Grigory Borisovich Chernyak.

Grigory Borisovich Chernyak was born in Gomel, Belorussian SSR on October 20, 1949. In 1974 he graduated from the Belorussian Railroad Transport Engineering Institute. In 1974 he began working at the Leningrad City Telephone Network in the capacity of construction engineer of the Petrograd telephone switchboard. After climbing up many rungs of the corporate ladder he was finally appointed vice director of LGTS in 1990.
In 1994 Mr. Chernyak was appointed to the position of director of general business issues at OJSC Petersburg Telephone Network and in July 2002 he became vice general director of OJSC North Western Telecom for property relations, while he continues to exercise the duties of director of property relations at a branch of OJSC Petersburg Telephone Network.
Mr. Chernyak is the recipient of the Master Telecom Expert award, which is given to outstanding professionals for their accomplishment in Russia's telecom industry. He has also been given an award for Excellence in Sports and Physical Fitness in Russia. Mr. Chernyak is married with two sons.
