1Q 2004 revenues at South Telecommunication Company (STC) from value-added services totaled Rub 182.8 mln, or up 86.9%, including earnings:
- from Internet access grew 61.1% to Rub 112.8 mln,
- from services of rolled out private corporate networks (VPN), a 7-fold rise to Rub 35.6 mln,
- from IP-telephony, a 5-fold increase to Rub 11.2 mln,
- from ISDN services, a 50% increment to Rub 16.3 mln,
- from TV cable services jumped 23.5% to Rub 3.6 mln, et al.
Value-added services accounted for 4.9% in STC' 1Q 2004 revenues from telecom services (Rub 3,720.7 mln).
Internet access services account for the bulk of Company’s revenues from value-added services. The aggregate traffic consumption by Internet provider RTComm.RU is permanently on the rise, thereby pushing up profit margins of Internet services, since ISP fees drop in line with rising traffic. Internet traffic in the reporting period amounted to 61,300 Gb, or up 67% on the year, while Internet connection via dial-up channels equaled 5.6 mln hours, 46% more than in the year-earlier period.
