Moscow, 15 December 2003, Russia’s leading manufacturer of polished and non-stick cookware, Demidovsky Consumer Goods, has today become the first Russian company to receive a license from DuPont for the production of non-stick cookware with Teflon® Platinum coating.
Obtaining the licence strengthens the relationship between Demidovsky Consumer Goods and DuPont. Both companies have worked together in the past and in 2001 Demidovsky became the first Russian company to obtain a licence to produce cookware with the Teflon® Classic coating.
Demidovsky will now produce the high quality ScovO Challenge cookware range, which already competes on a par with some of Europe’s leading manufacturers in the Russian market, with DuPont’s Teflon® Platinum coating. The coating is the latest and most advanced in the world — it is durable and highly resistant to abrasions, scratches and stains and offers added protection to cookware products so that even metal utensils can be used without damaging the surface.
Innesa Smirnova, General Director of Demidovsky Consumer Goods said “I am delighted we are cementing our relationship with DuPont in this way. With the licence to produce cookware using Teflon® Platinum coating, Demidovsky Consumer Goods will now be able to compete with many well known international brands using the same technology. Creating a Russian cookware brand to compete on the same level as foreign brands is Demidovsky’s strategic aim and acquiring this licence has brought us closer to fulfilling that”.
DuPont’s representative in Russia, Lubov Gerasimchuk, said “It is a privilege for us to have Demidovsky Consumer Goods as a partner — their products are extremely high quality and very competitively priced and we look forward to continuing our close cooperation in the future”.
All Demidovsky Consumer Goods’ products are certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and the company was recognised last month, when it was awarded “Product of the year” by the National Trade Association, for the way it had integrated international technologies into the production of its cookware.
