During the first quarter of 2005, oil production in OJSC “Surgutneftegas” rose 7.6% to reach 15,368.8 thousand tons, compared to 14,284.8 thousand tons from the year-ago period.

Gas production amounted to 3.865 bn cubic meters (about 3.730 bn cubic meters in the same period of 2004). The Company processed about 1.078 bn cubic meters of gas, i.e. virtually to the tune of the first quarter last year.

OJSC “Surgutneftegas” drilled 738.5 thousand meters of rock against 732.8 thousand drilled within January-March of 2004, including 54.3 thousand meters of exploratory drilling in the reporting period of 2005.

The Company commissioned 218 new wells (same as the first quarter of 2004).
