Power Machines to modernize the biggest thermal power plant in Azerbaijan

Power Machines Group and Azerbaijan state company "Azerenergy" signed a Contract  for modernization of the fifth power unit of Azerbaijanskaya TPP on a turn-key basis.

Power Machines became the first company to get an order for the modernization of a power plant in Transcaucasia. Years of faultless service of the turbines, turbo and hydro units, produced by Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila in this region provided for trust to products of Power Machines Group and lead to great interest from the part of Customer.

Azerbaijanskaya TPP is the biggest in Transcaucasian region. It has 8 power units, each equipped with the turbines and generators produced by Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila, as well as with boilers produced by Taganrog Boilers’ Plant “Krasny Kotelshchik”.

Power Machines engineering design envisages the deep modernization of the turbine unit, which will be equipped with newly designed blades and a 320MW turbogenerator. The boiler and some auxiliary equipment will be also modernized. As a result of the modernization works the capacity of the existing equipment will be increased by 20 MW.

In accordance with the terms of the Contract the Group’s enterprises will install, launch and test the new equipment. The participation of Power Machines in the modernization of the remaining seven power units will be considered after the completion of the works.
