Moscow. April 3, 2006.  Sibneft today named Anatoly Cherner as the company’s new vice president for refining and marketing. Prior to joining the company, Mr Cherner held a similar position in Slavneft.

Mr Cherner will be responsible for Sibneft’s refining and marketing of crude oil and petroleum products, as well as corporate governance for Sibneft’s refining, marketing and retail subsidiaries.

Anatoly Cherner was born on August 27, 1954 in the city of Grozny. He graduated from the Grozny Oil Institute in 1976 with a degree in chemical technology for oil and gas refining. From 1976 through 1993, he worked at the Sheripov Grozny Refinery, where rose through the ranks from the post of machinery operator to become refinery director. In 1996, he joined Slavneft as head of the Department for Oil and Oil Products Trading and was later named as the company’s vice president.
