Moscow, 1 December 2004 — RUSAL, one of the world's leading aluminium companies, announced today the appointment of Yuri Isaev as managing director responsible for government relations. He also becomes a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Isaev becomes head of the government relations department and will be responsible for building relations with federal and regional government institutions, the State Duma and the Council of the Federation, political parties and non-governmental organizations.
With broad experience establishing relations between business and government bodies, Mr. Isaev will strengthen this aspect of RUSAL activities.
Biography
Yuri Isaev was born in Moscow in 1972. He graduated from the Moscow State Aviation Institute with a diploma in economics in 1994. His career started at Rossisky Credit bank, where he held a variety of positions from economist to, latterly, President and Chairman of the bank. He then joined and headed Impex bank before being appointed, in June 2002, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation.
From June to November 2004 Mr Isaev worked as adviser to the first deputy to the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation. Mr. Isaev speaks fluent English and French. He is married with three children.
