Rostelecom, Russia’s national long-distance telecommunications operator, has been issued with the certificate of conformity # 000001 within "Telecommunications-Quality" voluntary certification system created under the auspice of Russian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications to make certification of telecommunications services, facilities and carriers’ quality management systems.

The first certificate of "Telecommunications-Quality" voluntary certification system was given to Rostelecom’s representatives by Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency Liudmila Yurasova. It certifies that the Company’s long-distance leased line service complies with all necessary requirements to ensure the customer’s satisfaction with its quality level.

To certify the above service a number of tests were made including the assessment of service performance, its reliability and user properties. Test results demonstrated stability of all these characteristics and their compliance with the higher level of set requirements.

Improved quality of services underpins operational efficiency in the up-to-date telecom market, so the Company is continuing the process of certification. At the moment it is planned to undertake certification testing of Rostelecom’s international leased line service.
