Rosneft signed agreements aiming to substitute natural gas for petrol and diesel as motor fuels in the Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk, Sakhalin, Irkutsk, Ryazan and Yaroslavl regions during the St. Petersburg Economic Forum on 21 June.
The documents were signed by Rosneft President and Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin and Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun, Sakhalin Governor Alexander Khoroshavin, Irkutsk Governor Sergey Yeroshchenko, Ryazan Governor Oleg Kovalev, Yaroslavl Governor Sergey Yastrebov, and Krasnoyarsk Governor Lev Kuznetsov for their regions respectively.
The agreements were concluded in fulfillment of the orders to raise energy efficiency by expanding the use of natural gas as a motor fuel, which were outlined by the President of the Russian Federation and the national Government.
Rosneft had signed similar deals with Stavropol, Krasnodar, Samara, Oryol and Voronezh in pursuit of the corporate strategy on the use of natural gas, which sets to create conditions for a broader use of natural gas as a motor fuel in vehicles throughout the country.
