Rosneft Oil Company

June 3, 2021

Rosneft commences construction of power generation facilities for Vostok Oil Project

As part of the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, OOO Vostok Oil (a Rosneft Group Subsidiary) and OOO Inter RAO Engineering (an Inter RAO Group Company) concluded survey and design contracts to underpin construction of Train 1 power generation facilities for the Vostok OIl Project.

Inter RAO Engineering is to deliver survey and design works to enable construction of the Irkinskaya Gas Turbine Station to 867 MW, a 110 kV overhead power transmission line, power generation facilities of the Payakha Head Oil Pumping Station, and also of a 214 MW power station in North Bay.

In 2020, Rosneft commenced full-field development of its Taimyr assets. Vostok Oil will help unlock the unique resource potential of the region. Execution of this Project secures delivery of the targets set by the President of Russia on increasing the freight traffic of the Northern Sea Route.

Project plans include construction of power generation facilities of about 3.5 GW, 3 aerodromes, 2 offshore terminals, 15 accommodation camps, large-scale renovation of the Enisey River infrastructure. Rosneft is constructing an onshore terminal in the North Bay Port to ensure loading of crude oil to tankers.

For reference:

he Vostok Oil Project envisages creating tens of thousands additional jobs.

A competitive advantage of the Vostok Oil Project lies in its close vicinity to a unique transportation corridor – the Northern Sea Route. Navigating this route opens the potential for supply of raw materials in two directions at once: to European and Asian markets.

Implementation of the Vostok Oil Project will give momentum to the development of related economic sectors such as machine building, metallurgy, power generation, road construction, ship building, and will have a significant multiplicative effect.

Inter RAO Engineering specializes in managing energy construction projects both in Russia and abroad. The company provides a wide range of services related to implementation of energy construction projects, including management of EPC/EPCM ("turnkey") projects, design of power generation facilities, supply of major and auxiliary equipment.
