On July 11, Rosneft-Tuapsenefteprodukt placed in operation its railroad oil-loading rack following extensive repairs.

As the company’s General Director, Alexander Yarovenko, reported during the opening ceremony, the loading rack’s throughput capacity comprises at least 5 million tons of light oil products. A pumping station, a block of receiver tanks, a block valve station, process pipelines, a control room and other objects were built in addition to the loading rack itself, to facilitate the receipt and railroad shipment of 5 gasoline grades using two trains with up to 30 tanks in each.

1 billion rubles was invested in the reconstruction. Construction commenced in April 2005 and was completed 8 months ahead of schedule. Besides improving performance figures, the placing on stream of this object will reduce environmental pressure, with the special fuel vapor recovery system preventing emissions.

The commissioned oil-loading rack is a part of the fundamental reconstruction of the facilities of Rosneft’s subsidiaries in Tuapse: Rosneft-Tuapsenefteprodukt and the Tuapse Refinery. Following the completion of reconstruction, the refinery’s capacity will increase from 4 to 12 million tons a year, refining levels from 56% to 95%, and oil product transshipment capacity will increase from 10 million tons to 17 million tons by 2010.
