Rosneft President Igor Sechin held a working meeting with Khabarovsk Region Governor Vyacheslav Shport on 30 November 2012 as part of an extraordinary general meeting of Rosneft shareholders in Khabarovsk.
The regional governor thanked Mr Sechin for Rosneftís considerable contribution to developing the regionís economy and social environment. Mr Shport highlighted that in 2012 alone, Rosneft is expected to pay 2.5 billion rubles in tax to the region, which is a 20% increase on last year.
The parties also discussed Igor Sechinís trip to Komsomolsk on Amur, where he visited Rosneftís Komsomolsk refinery. The Rosneft president also spoke about work to minimize the refineryís environmental footprint, which is expected to be complete by summer 2013. Total spending on this project will be RUB 300 million.
One of the Companyís significant new investment projects, the construction of a USD 1 million pipeline, was also discussed. Mr Sechin highlighted that this project will create new jobs in the manufacturing and production sector, an important area of the Khabarovsk regionís economy.
Igor Makarov, head of ITERA, and Elena Titova, an advisor to the president of Rosneft, also took part in the meeting. As part of discussions the parties considered further development of the companiesí gas projects.
