On November 9, Russia and China signed over ten documents at the end of the 11th Sino-Russian inter-governmental summit. These documents included a framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Rosneft and the China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec), as well as an agreement with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on the creation of a joint enterprise.
Further, RAO UES Russia and China’s State Grid Corporation concluded a contract on the sale and purchase of electric power.
German Gref, head of the RF Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, signed an agreement with China’s Minister of Trade, Bo Xilai, on the encouragement and mutual protection of capital investment, as well as a memorandum between the RF Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and China’s Ministry of Commerce on the completion of drafting of the Sino-Russian trade and economic cooperation development program. The two departments also adopted an action plan to encourage bilateral trade in mechanical and technical goods for 2007—2008.
The RF Federal Atomic Energy Agency and China’s Committee for Defense Science, Technology and the Defense Industry also signed a memorandum of understanding in respect of the development of medium-term cooperation in the sphere of the peaceful use of atomic energy.
