Primorsk Shipping Corporation has entered into a long-term contract for chartering of icebreaking – class tug

Primorsk Shipping Corporation (PRISCO) in cooperation with the specialized Norwegian ship owner Rieber Shipping AS has entered into a long-term contract with Exxon Neftegas Limited – key participant of the Sakhalin-I Consortium and subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation for charter of an icebreaking-classed tug. The contract has a duration of 15 years plus options from commencement September 2006. The tug will provide icebreaking support during transportation of oil and mooring operations at the oil terminal at the port of De-Kastri. The ship will be operated in the extreme navigational conditions, that is why it must be built in strict compliance with the ecological requirements of Consortium Sakhalin-I and conventional rules of IMO (International Maritime Organization). According to the Project the tug will be supplied with additional fire-fighting equipment.
