It was decided to switch “ Karelenergo” to the RAB-based method of tariff regulation in 2012.

December 21, 2010 at a board meeting of the Federal Tariff Service of Russia, the minimum levels of tariffs for electric power transmission in the Republic of Karelia, were approved.
1 January 2011, the branch of IDGC of North-West “Karelenergo” will be not transferred on the RAB-based  method of tariff regulation.

However, in November, the administration of the Republic of Karelia, chaired by the deputy head of Republic Karelia Yuri Kancher, had a joint meeting , during which, it was decided to switch “ Karelenergo”  to the RAB-based method of tariff regulation  in 2012.

"At the moment the legislation does not envisage such a possibility, but according to information from the Federal Tariff Service of Russia, in 2011is planned  the adoption of relevant amendments. When the changes will be adopted, IDGC North-West ,together with the administration of the Republic of Karelia, will re-initiate the transition of “Karelenergo” to the RAB-based method of tariff regulation », - noted the Head of the Tariff Department of IDGC North-West Valentin Chesnokov.
