The total connected capacity equaled 54.8 MW

For the 1st half of the year 2010, IDGC of North-West performed 3,082 agreements for realization of engineering connection for the total capacity of 54.8 MW, the Chief of the executive body’s Engineering Connection Department Alexey Shmyrin reported. 

Particularly, 578 agreements for the capacity of 6 MW have been already performed under the applications of the current year. The major part of the services for engineering connection (2,383) for the total capacity of 18.2 MW was requested by consumers of the grid company for household needs. According to Alexey Shmyrin, in comparison with the similar period of the last year, the growth of the performed engineering connection agreements is 1.5 time.

The volumes of the objects commissioned in virtue of engineering connection operations for the 1st half of the year 2010 were 125.6 km of transmission lines and 18.6 MVA of transformer capacity.

The problem for IDGC of North-West in the sphere of engineering connection is instability of a number consumers, who first submit to the grid company an application for connection of capacity and then withdraw it. This involves certain difficulties as to the plans and work of the power company. Thus, solely in the 1st half of the current year, 572 agreements for realization of engineering connection for the total capacity of 23.5 MW were cancelled in IDGC of North-West, including 17 agreements were cancelled under the applications of the current year.

"We are concerned about the developing tendency. In comparison with the last year, the number of the cancelled agreements increased 3.9 times", Alexey Shmyrin said (in the photo) making comments on the figures of the semi-annual reporting in respect of the engineering connection. "We consider that consumers should bear the responsibility for similar actions, since signing and subsequent cancellation of agreements entail unjustified expenses of the power company, first of all, time and organizational expenses, bring changes into financial plans which are formed in view of applicants' needs.
