In the first half of 2009 IDGC of North-West received around 5 thousand applications for technological connection for the total sum of 525.5 MW

The company summed up the results of activities for technological connection in January- June 2009.

In the first half of 2009 IDGC of North-West received 4,938 applications for technological connection for the total capacity of 525.5 MW. As compared to the similar period of 2008, this indicator grew by 417 applications with the total capacity of 78.5 MW. “Increase of the number of applications for technological connection to the electric networks of IDGC of North-West may be connected with changes in the Rules of technological connection”, thinks the head of the Department of Technological Connection of IDGC of North-West, Alexander Shmyrin. 

From January to June of the current year the branches of the company concluded 3,769 agreements about technological connection for the total capacity of 161 MW. As compared to the first half of 2008m, the number of concluded contracts grew by 78 contracts, and the volume of capacities reduced by 97.5 MW. The specialists of IDGC of North-West connect the reduction of capacities with changes in the plans of large consumers due to the financial crisis, and the growth of the number of concluded contracts, with changes in the Rules of technological connection for applicants of small and medium enterprises with the capacity of up to 100 kW inclusive. 

In the first half of 2009 the applicants caused dissolution of 145 contracts about execution of technological connection for the total capacity of 8.4 MW. This indicator grew almost six times, as compared to the similar period of 2008 – in the first half of 2008 32 contracts for the total capacity of 1.4 MW were dissolved. The number of applicants that ask IDGC of North-West to delay the term of signing or to dissolve contracts about execution of technological connection due to the absence of the source of financing or second study of development plans.

According to Alexei Shmyrin, in the first half of the current year IDGC of North-West executed 2,132 contracts with the total capacity of 52.7 MW, including 1,544 contracts with physical persons for public living needs for the total capacity of 10.9 MW. In the similar period of 2008 IDGC of North-West executed 1,432 contracts for the total capacity of 47.3 MW, including 832 contracts with physical persons for public living needs for the total capacity of 5 MW.

Technological connection is one of the main activities of IDGC of North-West. The importance of this process is in connection of new consumers to the electric network and electric networks of the company. Payment for technological connection is the source of financing of the investment program of IDGC of North-West.
