General Director of IDGC of North-West, today, delivering a speech at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, has determined the tasks set forth for the company in 2009 in the field of corporate governance.

The principles the IDGC of North-West's corporate governance is built under - accountability, fairness, transparency, and responsibility, - enable us to build logical and effective relations with shareholders and business community, to maintain investors' constant interest in IDGC of North-West's activities," the head of the Interregional Distribution Grid Company said.

According to Alexander Kukhmay, this is positively reflected in the company's capitalization growth.

"At the same time, we should improve work in the field of the corporate governance in view of those tasks which should be solved by the united company," General Director of IDGC of North-West declared.

He marked a necessity of increase of the company’s openness level in shareholder relations activities, potential investors, analysts, professional participants of the securities market, control and supervising, regulating state authorities. IDGC of North-West's General Director determined the 2009 main task in the field of corporate governance: receiving by the Company of the international corporate governance rating.

Deputy General Director for Corporate Governance Anatoly Kushnerov specified at the briefing devoted to AGMS results, that all procedures for receiving by the company of the international corporate governance rating had been already initiated.

"In order to go through the procedure of receiving the international corporate rating, we have involved the experts of one of the world's leading agencies Standard and Poor’s,"  Anatoly Kushnerov explained.

"We plan that in the end of July we can publicly present evaluations of the leading experts in the field of corporate governance which will enable us to receive the international corporate rating.”
