These days, Ethylene Plant of “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC celebrates 30 years since it made its first product.
Over the three decades, the Plant surely reached the productive capacity, produced upwards of 10.5 MM tons of valuable feedstock both for the NKNK Plants and for large petrochemical enterprises of Tatarstan and of Bashkortostan.
At present, the Plant is being upgraded as per the plan, which will result in the capacity of 600 Ktpa by 2008. Some process units have already been successfully reconstructed, two new ethane pyrolysis heaters and a multi-purpose heater SRT-VI erected. A computerized production control system is being introduced in conjunction with the Japanese company “Yokogawa”.
During this year turnaround, over 120 trays in the propane-propylene splitter will be replaced, pyrogas compressor will be revamped, and extra pumping and heat exchanging equipment will be erected.
From year to year, the Plant surpasses its production plan: a 2005 record output amounts to 465 Ktpa of ethylene and 203 Ktpa of propylene. Per the results of the current year 5 months, it surpasses the indicators of the last year similar period by 3.6%.
