“Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC was awarded with a gold medal, diploma and banner “EcoLeader 2006” as a winner of the Republican Contest “EcoLeader” in nomination “For Implementing Resource Saving Technologies”. The Contest was conducted within the framework of II Ecological Forum “Man. Nature. Science. Technology.” and XII Republican Conference of the Tatarstan Environmental Bodies Functionaries.
The activity of “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC in environmental protection was highly appraised in the report of I. Larochkina, the TR Minister for Ecology & Natural Resources, on the results of the Ministry’s operations over the last 5 years. As was mentioned, the NKNK efforts in making a wastes management system more efficient proved positive.
Despite the rise in production volumes, in 2005 “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC reduced wastewater discharge into the water basin compared to the previous year from 0.867 to 0.854 t/RUR m, specific atmospheric emission from 1.54 to 1.41 t/RUR m, specific consumption of hydrocarbon feed from 76.1 to 74.1 t/RUR m.
