On November 7, 2011 R. Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim as part of his working trip to Nizhnekamsk municipal region.
He visited the halobutyl rubber plant where the third Welding rubber finishing line was commissioned on August 25 this year. Nizhnekamskneftekhim is ranked the third best halobutyl producer in the world and the first and the only one in Russia. High quality of halobutyl has been recognized all over the world, about 93% of halobutyl rubber is supplied to European and Asian and the US markets. Nizhnekamsk halobutyl rubber was certified and approved by the world tire producers, such as Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Continental.
R. Minnikhanov also visited the ABS-plastics plant under construction. Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plastics are widely applicable in the automobile industry and in the consumer goods production. It should be appreciated that the state-of-the-art technology will be used for production of ABS-plastics at OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, thus our company will really claim for the leadership in the production of this polymer. Start-up of this plant is scheduled for autumn of 2012.
