Major ways of the environmental protection at Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc are defined in the environmental program devised for the years 2001-2006. It incorporates technological process improvement for petrochemical products including production automatic control and nature monitoring.

Following that program, in recent years, the Company gained quite an experience in recycling and processing of production byproducts, 97% of which are currently recycled, others are neutralized. Byproducts are utilized to produce motor gasoline, flotator, oligopiperylene rubber, oxol and others. This year such products totaled 173 000 tons, and the volume is increasing yearly.
