Two types of polystyrene will be produced on this line – general purpose grade and high-impact grade, the design capacity is 50 thousand tons a year.

Currently 10 grades of polystyrene are produced at the plant and annual production exceeds 120 thousand tons. In 2004 the polystyrene plant was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate of compliance of international organization BVQI. Also the hygienic report was obtained for compliance of all grades of polystyrene products to the state sanitary-epidemiological regulations, i.e. certification of polystyrene use for production of packing for foodstuff.

OOO “Europlastic”, Moscow , is the official trade representative and supplier of Nizhnekamskneftekhim polystyrene on the Russian market and sells more than 97% of overall production supplied to domestic consumers. There is a rather high demand for this product on the international market, the deliveries are made to Poland , China , Turkey , Slovenia , Belorussia , Ukraine .

Technology and equipment for new production plant were provided by Fina Technology (USA), JSC Giprokauchuk ( Moscow ) was the general designer and the trust Tatspetsneftekhimremstroy (Nizhnekamsk) was the main contractor. Equipment for pelletizing unit was supplied by Riter company ( Germany ) – underwater-strand method for pellets production which allows to produce the homogeneous product and exclude the manual work when handling the polystyrene strands.

After commissioning of the third polystyrene line, Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. became the largest producer of polystyrene in the Russian Federation.
