The Federal State Unitary Enterprise Russian TV and Radio Network (FGUP RTRS) failed to meet it obligations with respect to AO MOSENERGO on electricity payments. As of March 1, FGUP RTRS owed to AO MOSENERGO almost 2.5 m rubles.
On December 17, 2003, the Power Committee of the Moscow Region (ECMO) set tariffs on electricity and heat for the population in the Moscow region. In accordance with the new price list FGUP RTRS should pay for electricity at 1.24 rubles/kWt (as set for «Other Consumers»).
In February 2004, AO MOSENERGO met with managers of FGUP RTRS with the latter promising to pay all debts before March 11, 2004. As of March 22, 2004, the obligation was not fulfilled.
AO MOSENERGO will defend its interests by appealing to the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service and the Moscow Regional Arbitration Court.
At the same time, AO MOSENERGO will have to act in accordance with the current legislation with the aim to recover the debt from FGUP RTRS, including such unpopular measures as limitation of power supply for FGUP RTRS facilities within paid amounts.
