AO Mosenergo organized the exhibition jointly with Izvestia newspaper. It will be held in the media center of Izvestia's editorial offices through mid-June.
Some 40 unique black-and-white archive photographs will be presented at the exhibition. Dating from 1920–1970 and illustrating the creation of the capital’s power sector, these historical documents from the period of “great construction” are valuable not only from the documentary standpoint, but also as art pieces. The photographs show the laying of electric cables in the Moscow region, construction of heating and electric mains, assembly of electric lines, etc.
The head of Izvestia’s photography division Aleksei Godunov and representatives of AO Mosenergo open the exhibition on May 29.
In addition to special exhibitions, AO Mosenergo supports the existing Museum of the Moscow Power System. The museum’s exhibits show the history of heat and electric utilities from XIX century to modern times. Last year more than three thousand people attended the museum.
